AVP Interior & Exterior

What to prepare before requesting an interior quotation.

A clear first brief helps designers and contractors understand the project and reduces avoidable assumptions.

An interior quotation is only as useful as the information behind it. Before asking for a cost, organise the site, scope, style, timeline and decision-making context.

1. Confirm the project type and location

State whether the property is an apartment, independent house, office, showroom, school or another space. Location affects access, labour movement, delivery restrictions and site visits.

2. Share the approximate area and plans

Provide the built-up or carpet area and any available floor plan. Site measurements remain important, but early drawings help the team understand scale and room relationships.

Turnkey planning
Coordinated planning connects design, civil, services, furniture and finish decisions.

3. Explain the exact scope

A request for “complete interior” can mean very different things. Clarify whether you need design only, furniture, civil modification, electrical, plumbing, ceiling, painting, glazing, air-conditioning coordination or complete turnkey execution.

4. Describe the existing condition

New, unfinished properties differ from occupied renovation projects. Share photographs and mention leakage, cracks, old wiring, demolition, furniture removal or access constraints.

5. State your timeline honestly

Provide the preferred start date and any immovable completion requirement. A realistic programme depends on design decisions, approvals, material lead times, site access and dependencies.

6. Give a budget direction

A budget range helps the team propose suitable materials and priorities. It does not replace detailed costing, but it reduces the chance of developing a solution that is commercially unsuitable.

7. Collect reference images carefully

Reference images are useful for understanding mood, colour, material and style. They should guide discussion rather than be treated as exact copies regardless of site conditions.
